Not at all. Each PDF page is an object tree pointing at its own content, fonts, and images. Splitting lifts those objects into a new file untouched (nothing is rasterized or re-rendered) so extracted pages remain crisp, searchable, and identical to the pages in the original document.

One run turns up to 50 pages into single-page files, and four or more arrive bundled as one ZIP so your browser is not hit with dozens of separate downloads. For longer documents, set the advanced split every N pages option to 1, which covers the whole file in one run, or extract page ranges instead.
Can I split a PDF that has a password on it?
You will need to unlock it first. Encryption scrambles the content streams inside the file, which means page objects cannot be copied out without the key. Open the document with its password, save an unprotected copy from your viewer, and split that version instead of the locked one.
Will the split file be smaller than the original?
Usually, but not in exact proportion. Resources such as embedded fonts are often shared across many pages, so a five-page extract still carries a full copy of every typeface those pages use. Pages heavy with scanned images shrink more predictably, since each image belongs to one page.
